By Ben Jensen twitter.com/thecattery GEELONG CATS V NORTH MELBOURNE KANGAROOS GEELONG has broken the VFL/AFL record for most consecutive wins at the one venue, with their 25th win in a row after defeating North Melbourne by 66 points in front of just under 24,000 at Geelong's Skilled Stadium. MATCH PREVIEW
Geelong led from start to finish, but was challenged by North up until the ten minute mark of the second quarter, but from then on it was all Geelong, the Cats kicking four straight to open up a five goal lead, which the margin remained at half time. The Cats used a shock and awe tactic in the third term, booting five goals before the Kangaroos could even score. The Roos managed three in a row of their own but a goal from best on ground Travis Varcoe pushed the Cats' lead back to 54 points at the final break. A three goal to one final term saw the Cats round out the win by 66 points, making their record six from six this season, ahead of their top of the table clash with Collingwood at the MCG next Friday night.
