JOEL SELWOOD WINS GEELONG BEST AND FAIREST
Ben Jensen 1 October 2010

JOEL SELWOOD won Geelong's Carji Greeves Medal last night, beating Gary Ablett who of course was poached by the AFL on behalf of the Gold Coast. Selwood, who many readers will remember was tipped for the Brownlow earlier in the season before Ablett-mania took over, polled 667 votes from 24 games, the same number as Ablett who polled 647 votes. Coach Mark Thompson appeared and gave a speech that all but signals his departure as coach after 11 season, though he left the door open, for now.
