SKILLED SPONSORSHIP EXTENDED UNTIL 2008
September 4 2003

Good news for Geelong fans - our home ground will remain known as 'Skilled Stadium' for at least another five more years, giving us some stability. Previously, after being known as Kardinia Park for 55 years, the ground was named Shell Stadium for four years. In 2002 it was then named Baytec Stadium but when Baytec went bust it was hastily renamed Skilled Stadium before Geelong's first game for 2002. Skilled are a labour hire company that first came to prominence in Australia while sponsoring the 18 foot skiffs racing on Channel Nine during lunchbreaks at the cricket in the early 1990s.
