MARK THOMPSON RETIRES AS GEELONG COACH
Ben Jensen 4 October 2010

MARK THOMPSON, as expected, resigned as Geelong coach today after considering his position for the past week (See Original Story). Thompson said he hadn't change his mind, which was made up over a week ago. "I'm ready to stop coaching," Thompson said from Skilled Stadium. "I've been here 11 years and it's been the time of my life. I've met some unbelievable people, but you know in your heart when it's time to give up. It's a really hard thing to do, but I've just got tired of coaching and I don't want to coach anymore."
