CATS GET THE FOUR POINTS AGAINST THE BOMBERS

AFL ROUND 20 2016: GEELONG CATS V ESSENDON BOMBERS WE expected it to be a dour affair and it was; in a pretty forgettable game of football the Cats defeated the hapless Bombers but in pretty pedestrian style with the depleted Bombers just wanting the season to end no doubt. The game was significant with Scott Selwood playing a handy first game for the club and Josh Caddy playing his first game in well over a month. Harry Taylor, named best on ground for the Cats, was absolutely cannoned into by Joe Daniher late in the game while standing a few metres in front of Tom Lonergan who suffered a similar ten years ago, but was fine after the game. Daniel Menzel missed more than half the game with hamstring tightness. A number of other Cats were left with question marks over whether they're in the best 22; Mitch Duncan and Mark Blicavs among them. But the Cats' hopes of a top four finish remain relatively healthy with current top four sides to play each other while the Cats' final three games are against Richmond, Brisbane and Melbourne.
