DAMN IT; COLLINGWOOD DEFEAT GEELONG, ALL BUT SECURE TOP SPOT
Ben Jensen 8 August 2010

Ben Jensen, in Heiligenblut, Austria COLLINGWOOD won the second of what will surely not be the last battle in the war for the AFL Premiership 2010 last night at the MCG. The Cats led narrowly at half time, 9.4 to 8.9, but could manage just three more goals and nine behinds as the Magpies booted six goals three to defeat their only realistic Premiership rivals by twenty-two points. James Podsiadly was a late inclusion, and kicked just the one goal while Travis Cloke went someway towards exorcising his goalkicking demons with two crucial goals. Geelong have another Saturday night game next round, an away fixture against the Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.
