CATS ROUND OFF PRE SEASON BY DEFEATING TIGERS
Ben Jensen 9 March 2008

By Ben Jensen GEELONG thrashed Richmond by twelve goals at Skilled Stadium on Friday night. Gary Ablett made his presence felt in his return from injury, kicking two goals and dominating the midfield after half time.

Cameron Mooney led the goalkicking this week with four, Ryan Gamble again got in the goals with three while Tom Hawkins kicked just one. Matthew Scarlett played his first match of the season, and like Ablett will be right for round one.

MEANWHILE former Geelong skipper and AFL/VFL Premiership ruckman Steven King has collected another winner's medal; this time while playing for St Kilda as they won the AFL NAB Cup overnight. St Kilda came from behind to defeat Adelaide at their home turf of AAMI Stadium, just as Geelong had done in 2006.
