MEMBERSHIPS OUT SOON
B Jensen 12 February 2005

OVERWHELMED by the number of renewing and new Members, the GFC has not been able to send out all membership cards yet (scan of card on right). The number signed up already (over 17,600) is a club record; indeed most other AFL clubs have also experienced the 'get in early' factor, possibly a sign of the booming economy. Nonetheless, Members should expect cards to arrive in the next few weeks, after the club released the statement below:

"We would like to thank all our members for their patience throughout this renewal period. Due to the increased demand for memberships this year there has been a slight delay in getting them out. Straight renewals and memberships should arrive within two weeks. All seat swaps and new seat applications should be finalised by the end of February."

Eastern Stand Allocations

Although a recent article in the Geelong Advertiser caused some alarm, stating that 6,000 seat applications were received, yet there's only 4,500 odd new seats in the Eastern Stand, the GFC has clarified that, although there was indeed 6,000 applications for new seats, not all 6,000 were in the new stand. Those who put in applications in November should be successful.
