SAINTS COMMENTS ON KING, GARDINER

We have secured four quality players, with three of them under the age of 25 and their best football
in front of them" said St Kilda coach Ross Lyon.
"We feel we have achieved our aim in selecting a balance of players in the areas of midfield, goal kicking and rucking, which is combined with our aim of developing young players" Lyon said.

"All four players have come from very strong and respected Clubs in the AFL, with effective systems in
place that has seen these Clubs experience recent finals success" Lyon said.

Former Geelong ruckman Stephen King underwent a full medical and intensive interview process,
where his desire to continue his career was evident.

"Steven still has 2-3 years of good football ahead of him and his leadership skills and talent are
qualities that are very positive for the Club" said Lyon.

Gardiner, also a former Geelong player is a leading forward who Lyon believes will be a strong
and solid contributor to the Saints.
