Cats ready for Dogs
February 15 2003

THE CATS played their final full-scale intraclub match this morning at Skilled Stadium in preparation for their Wizard Home Loans Cup clash with the Western Bulldogs at Skilled next Sunday. Cameron Ling dominated the centre bounces as new Captain Steven King went up against Peter Street. Comeback kid David Spriggs also impressed, appearing to be fully recovered from his knee reconstruction of one year ago.

Matthew Scarlett, and 2001 best & fairest Brenton Sanderson were solid in defense while Matthew McCarthy was a lively marking target up forward, while inaccurate in his kicking. Resting from the 'game' were David Clarke, Gary Ablett and Tom Harley.

Although entry for next Sunday's Wizard Cup fixture is not free for GFC members, a free family day will follow the game, where guernseys will be formally presented to all players. The AFL has decided that no club members are to be given complimentary entry to one pre-season match as has been the case in past seasons.

Memberships have been mailed out to most members by now, although there has been several cases where reserved seat holders have been given the wrong allocation, or none at all. In 2003 Geelong will be playing 8 home games at Skilled Stadium and 3 at Telstra Dome.
