PAUL COUCH LAID TO REST; FAREWELLED AT KARDINIA PARK
Ben Jensen 15 March 2016

PAUL COUCH who tragically passed away last weekend aged just 51 was given a farewell at Kardinia Park today by family, friends and just under a thousand community members. A huge Geelong jumper with his famous number 7 was placed in front of the dais, as family and friends gave eulogies to their great mate. Geraldine Couch and children Molly, Jessie, Tom and Joe spoke of Couch the husband, father and mate while fellow eighties/nineties midfield star Mark Bairstow shared some of the good times. "We had some great after matches, spent some wonderful times at Lord of the Isles; going over losses; going over wins; going over anything, we just sat there and drank beer." The service was followed by a lap of honour led by his family and joined by the fans clad in blue and white.
