CATS DISPENSE WITH POWER ON WAY TO TOP OF AFL LADDER, JOHNSON REPORTED

By Ben Jensen GEELONG finished off Port Adelaide's season yesterday afternoon on their way to the top of the AFL ladder, bypassing Hawthorn in thrashing the Power by fifty-nine points in front of 21,642 at Skilled Stadium. The game may yet come at a cost however, star forward Steve Johnson reported for making 'unnecessary' contact to Troy Chaplin's face in the second quarter.

Joel Corey against probably took the three Brownlow votes ahead of Gary Ablett, with Joel Selwood and Paul Chapman vying for the one vote. Chapman, goalless last week, booted four while Johnson kicked two. Cameron Mooney didn't feature in the major scorers list at all, while Mark Blake added another rare goal to his career statistics.
