TROUBLED EAGLE BEN COUSINS FINDS TROUBLE AGAIN

By Ben Jensen BEN COUSINS ARRESTED ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES WEST COAST EAGLE BEN COUSINS risks the end of his AFL career with his latest public disgrace. This time, Cousins was pulled over by WA police after coming to their attention "due to the manner of his driving". Cousins has been charged with posessing a prohibited substance, refusing to provide a blood sample and other traffic related charges. It is not immediately clear if the drug charge relates to improper posession of a prescription drug or an illicit drug (eg. cocaine, heroin, etc). Cousins was released on bail and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrate's Court this Thursday.

While the West Coast Eagles and the Australian Football League remained silent for more than six hours, the Eagles released the following statement a short time ago:

"The West Coast Eagles wish to advise that the club is not in a position to make any statement regarding Ben Cousins and Daniel Chick being questioned by police," the statement said.

"The police have advised the club that they will detail the circumstances of the interviews at the appropriate time and until then no club official will be available to the media."
