CATS WIN IN PERTH FOR SCARLETT'S 150TH
Ben Jensen 17 June 2006

By Ben Jensen THE CATS stunned the Dockers, winning by 66 points at Subiaco this afternoon. Despite a terrible record interstate in recent years, and not having won in WA since 2001, the Cats never looked like losing. Fremantle were Dockers by name, Shockers by nature.

Gary Ablett Junior kicked six goals, Brad Ottens four in a comprehensive pasting of the hapless Dockers. Cameron Mooney was best for the Cats. Kent Kingsley replaced Andrew Mackie in the selected side, while Captain Steven King and Kane Tenace returned well from injury.

It was Mark Thompson's 150th game as coach of Geelong, after joining in 2000. Scarlett was one of Geelong's best, and appears to have overcome his early season blues, as he did last season, and should be under consideration for the All Australian team for the third time.
