CATS LICK WOUNDS, LING IN TROUBLE; CROWS LEAD AT HALF TIME
Ben Jensen 18 March 2006

By Ben Jensen GEELONG trails Adelaide by just seven points at half time, after trailing by as much as 24 points midway through the second quarter. The Cats pegged back the lead to just two points, but the Crows kicked another goal just before the siren to take a seven point lead into half time.

For Geelong Brad Ottens and Nathan Ablett didn't play, while Cameron Ling appeared to suffer a knee injury, possibly a dislocation of the patella (kneecap), just before half time. Andrew Mackie came into the side.

The Cats will have to work hard to win, especially without big men up forward and leader Ling; the Geelong Football Club having not won a premiership of any form, besides a VFL title, since 1963.

Win or lose, we'll bring you a report as soon as the siren blows.
