James Rahilly makes hay while sun shines

James Rahilly, recalled to the Senior side only four weeks ago after impressing in the VFL, has grabbed the proverbial bull by the horns as he faced possibly his last chance to cement a position in the senior side. Rahilly was critical against Collingwood, and last night against the Bombers gathered 12 kicks, 15 handballs, 4 marks and also laid 5 tackles.

Originally from South Warrnambool, Rahilly, 23, was drafted by Geelong from the Geelong Falcons side, making his AFL debut in 1998. He played his 50th game for the club in 2001 in the same game as Tom Harley. Since then, Tom Harley has played in every Geelong game while Rahilly has struggled to keep his position. That was until the last month of football.
