Buddha gets a job at last!
October 21 2002

FORMER Geelong Captain and AFL Life Member Garry 'Buddha' Hocking, who was an assistant coach at North Ballarat this season, has been appointed the head coach of the Western Jets, and Under 18 side in Football Victoria's elite TAC Cup competition. Hocking, who wants to one day progress to the role of Senior AFL Coach, has made it known that he is seeking another job, a step up from his role at North Ballarat.

Hocking missed out on a position at Hawthorn and Box Hill recently, jobs filled by Donald McDonald and Tony Liberatore, respectively. It is not yet known whether or not Hocking will be migrating to Melbourne, however with the Geelong-Melbourne Freeway due for completion within weeks, he may not have to leave his home in Grovedale.
