JOEL Corey and Peter Riccardi were judged Geelong's equal best players in Sunday's narrow loss to Adelaide, by a panel of five Cats members.

The midfielders' efforts against the Crows impressed Geelong Advertiser People's Choice voters and earned the pair 8.5 votes each, ahead of Corey Enright and Steven King who both scored a rating of 7.5.

Riccardi's best on ground effort also saw him close the gap on King's overall lead. The veteran midfielder moved to an average rank of 6.43 for the season, just behind King on 7.01 for the year.

Riccardi, who moved to outright second spot, was one of three players who climbed the ratings ladder. Enright moved from 16th to 14th while James Kelly improved two positions to 19th.

A panel of Geelong members assess the performance of Geelong players each week.

A new selection panel is chosen each week.
