North Melbourne Kangaroos v Geelong Cats; 2019 round 8; match preview and FINAL team lists

North Melbourne Kangaroos v Geelong Cats; AFL 2019 round 8 preview and team lists, Marvel Stadium, Sunday 12 May 2019
Ben Jensen, 10 May 2019 GEELONG and North Melbourne play at Marvel Stadium this Mothers’ Day. Gary Ablett is free to play after being cleared by the AFL tribunal on Tuesday evening. The Cats have made just the one change, dropping Zach Guthrie who was a last minute replacement for Zach Tuohy last week who returns. Skipper Joel Selwood will MISS his second match in a row after being a late withdrawal last weekend against the Bombers. Patrick Dangerfield and Esava Ratugolea who were injured during the win over Essendon have both been named.

On Thursday regular inclusions for Sunday games Darcy Fort and James Parsons were included again along with Charlie Constable who was dropped last round, and of course Selwood; all four are on the expanded interchange as is Tuohy.  North Melbourne has gone in with an unchanged lineup from the team that thumped Carlton last weekend. They initially included four players including potential first gamers Curtis Taylor and Kyron Hayden but all have been confirmed as emergencies.

The VFL men‘s side also play the Kangaroos but at the Avalon Airport Oval, not in a curtain raiser as the Cats had with the Bombers at the MCG last round; the VFL women starts this weekend, their round one VFLW match an away fixture to Melbourne University.
