Sam Newman to leave Footy Show regardless of Nine plans for 2019
Ben Jensen 21 September 2018 GEELONG & AFL HALL OF FAMER SAM NEWMAN has put an end to speculation about his personal future and that of Channel Nine’s The Footy Show by announcing last night that even if the show did continue in 2019 he would not be a part of it. In his podcast Sam, Mike and Thomo this week (one of our favourite podcasts) Newman said he still hadn’t been told whether the show will continue in its current form or under a new name or format, but wanted to know by last night so he would have the chance to say goodbye to the fans, if he would not be back for 2019.
Now we won’t try and read between the lines, it looks like Sam has though and has figured out the show won’t continue as it is, whatever he has made it fairly clear he won’t be around though left a little bit of wriggle room at the end.
